Broader till access, a real web portal RBAC, and payment-queue fixes
Till access control was audited end to end: stock taking is now reachable by every role for joining an in-progress count, and the Inventory role gains the services catalogue, transaction history and suppliers it previously could not reach. Store locations no longer lose access to purchasing. On the web portal, a capability-based access-control system now governs every page and API endpoint, replacing what was previously little to no role enforcement, and each role lands on its own starting page after sign-in. Paid transactions clear from the pending queue immediately, and the queue keeps the newest transaction on top after a refresh. The installer can use SQL Server authentication, and sync re-authorization retries silently with the till's last-used credential before interrupting anyone.

Before upgrading
Back up both databases before upgrading. Deploy the backend first: the web RBAC rollout and role-based landing pages require it, and it is backward compatible with tills still on 2.7.6. Till access-control and menu changes, the queue-ordering fix, and sync credential caching have not yet been checked on a live till or against a live sync service — verify these on a bench till before a wide rollout. The SQL Server authentication option in the installer is opt-in; existing Windows-authenticated sites are unaffected. Match the download URL, size and SHA-256 to the exact installer variant you publish.

Reliable payments, clearer summaries and stocktaking improvements
Payments now persist the associated invoice status, bulk payment actions process every selected transaction, and refreshed products appear without restarting. Summary separates invoiced sales from collections, recognises gross margin on the sale date, and adds location filtering and complete charts. Fixes since the 2.7.5 beta also improve stocktake synchronisation, collaborative counting and stocktake screens. The shared-runtime installer reduces repeat download size.

Faster search, and stocktaking two people can do at once.
Search across the cart, stock takes, products and services is now one fast index rather than a scan, and opening a cart no longer builds a row per catalogue item. Stocktaking gains a status, belongs to a single location, and lets two people count the same stock without either overwriting the other — disagreements are held for review and settled on a Resolve issues screen. Reports now key on the date a transaction happened rather than the date it was entered, transaction lines keep their entry order, and a new company can complete first-time setup.
